Tutoring
The PMSA is proud to offer a tutor-matching program for MSPM students. With the help of the program administration, we will match students needing assistance with students or alumni who would like to help. This program is rewarding for both parties and continues the GW tradition of helping one another.
Please note- you do not have to be a student to tutor; alumni are welcome to volunteer. We do ask that only current students request tutors, however.
“I volunteered to tutor and really enjoyed it. Not only was I able to help a fellow student, it gave me some teaching experience. And nothing keeps you skills sharp like explaining a subject to someone.”
-Craig Baker, PMSA President 2009-2010

How does our tutoring feature work for Students?
Campus and Distance students can simply browse our Tutoring Program to find a tutor, click on the subject of interest then complete the form at the bottom of this page. The PMSA will contact the tutor for homework help. Tutors can be virtual or on-campus.
How do we connect Students and Tutors?
Tutoring options are conducted through online tools such as messaging or email. Students simply choose the tutor who can provide the service they are interested in.
PLEASE NOTE: If you intend to use our tutoring sessions, please be aware of the following:
- Not all the requests may be addressed as promptly as wished; it depends on the availability of a tutor for the targeted subject. Therefore, a reply can take two business days.
- All requests are honored on a best efforts basis.
- Students should submit one request per subject.
- Students should not solely depend on virtual tutoring. It is the student’s responsibility to complete assignments per the instruction and course syllabus.
- Students should begin assignments WELL IN ADVANCE of the due date!

Tutors:
The PMSA is excited to announce an opportunity for Subject Matter Experts to reach out to students needing assistance. These individuals can really benefit from your wealth of knowledge in an area of study. By becoming a TUTOR you can make a difference in someone’s academic life by enhancing the learning experience for the student but enriching GW as a whole. This program is open to current students and Alumni. Tutors can work with campus or distance students. We highly encourage you to get involved by creating a profile that is only available to PMSA.
How does our Virtual Tutoring to the Students work for Tutors?
Students requesting assistance will submit a TUTOR REQUEST FORM that will capture basic information. By completing the TUTOR VOLUNTEER FORM, you are providing important information that enables PMSA to match the student request and tutor expertise. All matches are made on best efforts.
